Lotus
Lotus flowers are closely associated with Buddhism and Hinduism because it has figured prominently in religious texts. It is also a common flower offering, being inexpensive and easy to come by. The lotus is an aquatic flower which grows perennially. It is found largely in Asia and Australia. Apart from being one of the prettiest flowers, lotuses are also edible – from the seeds, tubers, to the leaves.
