Petra, Jordan
Petra, Jordan is one of the few cities in the world that displays one architectural masterwork after another. The city has been in existence since 312 B.C. The uniquely designed area was carved out of a cliff by workers who had to endure dangerous working conditions. For centuries, it was one of the east’s biggest secrets from the western world until 1812. It is now listed as one of the World Heritage Sites of UNESCO.
